    The three balls are initially placed at rest. Then all of them are under the effect of same amount of force ( KQ^2/R^2) We know that F=MA ! Since mass is also same. Accelereation effect is indeed same as well. Now you can't do momentum conservation because (Velocity being a vector) and we need to resolve it in directions and all. Thus energy conservation is used. Had masses been different so would be velocity.
